How this tool builds your archive
Every file you select is added to a ZIP archive entirely in your browser, using the DEFLATE compression algorithm at the level you choose, then offered to you as a single downloadable .zip file. Nothing is uploaded anywhere.
A genuine, verified example: duplicate filenames
If you select two files that happen to share the same name, this tool doesn't silently let one overwrite the other inside the archive. A real run of this exact tool, given two files both named "notes.txt", produces these actual entry names: notes.txt, notes (1).txt.
Choosing a compression level
- Store applies no compression at all — useful only when bundling files that are already compressed (like JPGs or other ZIPs), where compressing again would waste time for essentially no size benefit.
- Fast and Balanced trade some compression ratio for speed.
- Maximum squeezes out the smallest possible file at the cost of longer processing time — worth it for large text-heavy archives, less impactful for already-compressed content like photos or videos.
The 500MB limit
Building a ZIP archive in your browser means holding your files in memory while compressing them. To keep this reliable across different browsers and devices, total input is capped at 500MB. If you're bundling more than that, consider splitting into a few smaller archives instead.
Privacy
Your files never leave your browser. Nothing is uploaded, logged, or stored anywhere.
